About Jeff Witter, Owner

Jeff has been involved in the marine industry since working in his god father’s marina as a young teenager. His favorite photograph is him at 3 months old wrapped in an orange lifejacket lying on the dash of the family’s 16 ft wood Lyman boat. Blessed with opportunity, his father, brothers, scoutmasters and god father challenged him to do many things. A first major project was to remove and replace a teak deck on a 40 ft sailboat…at age 14. His high school years were spent managing the retail marine store , rigging sailboats and working around the marina yard. His career continued in college working for a rigging shop. This provided many opportunities to enjoy competitive sailboat racing. Today he has many accomplishments in the sport after active campaigns of collegiate sailing, Midget Ocean Racing, Performance handicap racing and several one design classes. Jeff has owned or aggressively campaigned several One Designs such as J22, J24, Tartan 10, S2 7.9 & Thistles. There is no prouder moment than the win of a Mackinac Race and solid performances in several North American Championships, National Championships and local sailing championships.

As a Merchant Marine Officer, Jeff has had the opportunity to explore the East & West Coasts to include a transport south from Alaska. He and his wife Stacey, also a competitive sailor, enjoy teaching sailing as certified instructors for US Sailing and coaching others. He has 3 daughters who enjoy sailing and hanging out with Dad in the shop. He looks forward to introducing his grandson to sailing and enabling interests of his own.

Most 7th graders get to build a footstool in woodshop as a semester project. By the third day Jeff completed his and began to help others in the class. Reluctantly the shop teacher agreed to let him take on a bigger challenge… a 3 drawer dresser with dovetail drawers and a hutch. Passionate about wood, Jeff has restored many Lyman’s, Chris Crafts and Mathews for customers. He is most excited to discuss and execute custom furniture pieces and trim moldings to accent your project.

Putting it all together is a tremendous challenge for every project. Clarifying customer goals and defining the final elements of the project typically draws on the immense experience he has from past projects. He has built new homes and renovated many others. Custom Entertainment Centers, storage solutions for closets, laundry rooms & garages, office concepts, in addition to kitchens and bathrooms are within the realm of his experience. Both in residential homes and yachts!

The Buck stops with Jeff. His motto is “Say what we’re going to do….and then do what was said”. Involved in all aspects of his business, you can expect him to be there for every step. The greatest satisfaction of our work is to realize the dream and vision of our customers and become friends.
